The story of a photographer

My name is Gary and i'm and freelance photographer and Internet technologist from Hampshire. I specialise in Portrait shooting specifically, in studios or on location, for Actors, Musicians, and other creatives. I also provide reportage and events shots on a request basis or post-event syndication.

I first caught the photography bug in 1995 when I did an Art and Design course at College in Basingstoke. Learning to shoot on a Nikon 35mm FE Film camera. But never took it up professional at the time, instead pursuing the inception of more consumer grade ISP expansion within IT and Technology (during the hayday of Dialup Internet). Working for a multitude of Service Providers in the West Berkshire area.

Later in 2010 bought my first DSLR, in the form of the Nikon D3100. Quite a long gap. And got the bug again immediately, and got straight back in to the old skill. I properly caught G.A.S. (Gear Acquisition Syndrome) and have moved from the D3100, to D3200, D5200, D5300, D7200, D90, D610, Z6 and now Z6ii. With a Sony A7ii in between for a bit, and still and forever (coz they make amazing kit) Fuji XT-4 and prior to those an XT-3 and X100v. I kept hitting limitations on what I wanted to do, but don't feel I need to go further at the moment. And I have not paid full price for any since the D3100. Do Trade-Ins! ;)

I have been and do on a per-case booking part of the Camera Club in Kennington, SE London. And am a current member of the AOP - Association of Photographers. I specialiase in the one-to-one and small production team shoots (MUA - Make Up Artists, and Stylist) and can discuss expectations, contracts and schedules with you if you desire.

Who am I?
